Start Time : 7:23am, End Time : 10:55am
The "Bike Pusher Gang" made it the second time to "Carpet" and it was more fun this time as we had an inspiration, thanks to Yazid. Anyway as usual we met at the entrance to the trail at Sg.Ara and I saw Zul first to come as we were waiting slowly one by one turn up. Fauzi joined us this time and finally Yazid as usual stir up some excitement to the team by bring along a petite gal and he gladly introduced her to us as Swee Nee ( hope I spelled the name rite) as his " god Sister" and spelling out that she is an avid hiker and a kick boxer. That gave us a hint not to mess with her; hence we kept a distance especially me. As we went up the trail and reached the half way hut, we rested for a while to continue our next phase.
The usual huff and puff were our weekly Saturday routine and none of us want to look bad with Swee Nee around and this gal had more stamina then anyone of us on our first day on the trail. I guess it was the brotherly guidance that she had from Yazid, as usual playing the protective big brother! He was closely following her giving her direction on how to sit, ride and shift gears, we were amazed with his patience as compared to on how it showed up with his son..he.he… just kidding bro!
Upon going through the second phase of the uphill trail I realized that I left behind my sling canvas at the hut which had my hand phone, house key, water bottle and my wallet. I told Zul and Ling haw to go ahead as I need to get back to the hut and once I reached the half way hut I found my bag without anything missing hence I was glad and starting to relax thinking that I could either go home or wait for the guys to come down and join them for our cuppa tea. While chatting with the other bikers little did I notice that Tee was down the road looking for me and I realized that he came down not to accompany me but to take me back on the trail. Aiyo…there goes my relaxation hence with much reluctance I cycled back with Tee in front who glance every now and then to see if I am doing OK. He kept on saying "Come on Kali, you can make it" again and again and there I was urging him to go saying that I would be OK. He did not gave up on me, my legs were tired as I was doubling back the distance. I was wondering when this trip will come to an end as my body just refuse to listen to my mind. The mind is willing but the body crying out loud! Finally I reached the peak with pure exhaustion with a great relive that the grueling trip comes to an end. The usual photo session took place with Swee Nee as our focal point and we headed down towards the restaurant for our usual the tarik and roti canai.
It's great to have friends who look over you and I think we are truly blessed to have good friends in our team considering the short time we were together. Looking forward to next Saturday.
