It was some two weeks that I was unable to join the gang for our usual ride at the Sungai Ara trail. I was really excited for today's ride and I met Tee at the start point with Fauzi,Suffian ( sorry kawan) and David, Hock Hin, TW and also few new faces that I met for the first time and could not put a name to their face. While waiting for the rest we had multiple communication of what new gadgets they bought and comparing each others bike. Some of them has some fantastic piece of bike, not to mention David with his upgraded bike with new seat & tyres. These guys would give amateurs some bad influence on bike accessories and they are somewhat serious biker. Finally Yazid,Zul joined us and I think the number is growing by the week with some 11-12 riders. Arthur could not make it as he had his secret training yesterday with Tee and Suffian and it must have been a great experience for Suffian with Arthur leading? We miss LH and was told that he is resting after a treacherous outing last week or was it taking part in a secret tournament without our knowledge.
So we started off with the usual name calling; Team A, Team B to go first followed by the rest as some of us were proud to associate with the rest. We were the last to follow and went up the usual trail and it looked really tough for me after skipping two weeks of riding.I was struggling but not to be disappointed as i had Zul as my companion and not suprising Yazid is trying to be in the good books of Team A, well he tried though! We stopped at midpoint to rest our battered legs and our bottoms.Today there were streams of other bikers and Idris showed up followed by Pak Cik too. These are two guys that have our respect as they'll always share their experiences with us. Pak Cik once took few of us off the main trail sometime ago and it was a great trail with shadowing trees along the narrow path.
Anyway we had some difficult time deciding which path to take either the carpet or blue house. Finally after some persuasion and reluctance by some we choose the Blue House.I have been on this trail before with Tee,Fauzi and LH but only managed to reach the blue hut and not the blue house and we turned back as not sure of the which path to take.I think I have wrote about it in my earlier update. The same huff and puff, pushing, mocking each other and gasping for breath along the way. We constantly asked each other how far more to go and I recall vividly Yazid saying that his legs were not listening to his instruction. We stop for a short while at the blue hut to let others to catch up and while waiting more photos with Yazid and some holding durians. Finally we managed to reach the blue house with the A Team already there and with Yazid eating rambutan.Yazid was asking if anyone is interested in durian later there were few yes and many for teh tarik so we decided on our usual teh tarik.
We rested a while and took photos as remembrance and Idris gave me some advise on what to upgrade for my bike and I am already looking at my budget! The ride down hill as a thrilling trail with rocks, narrow path, pot holes and bamboo trees falling over canopying the road.I enjoyed the downhill ride as there are few of us who are champions of downhill ride namely Yazid and Zul. We raced the final bend towards our favourite mamak restaurant for roti canai & teh tarik. I am not sure what was more exciting the agony of pain or the downhill adrenaline rush or sheer male bonding during the weekend; a bunch of guys giving excuses with our other halves to get away on a saturday morning? By the way we have set our goals to ride to by Balik Pulau by end of the month!
